Pilates owner and Master Trainer, Chanda Fetter has been a Santa Barbara resident for over 14 years. Prior to moving here she worked as a Professional Ballet Dancer with the Sacrament Ballet. Throughout that time she trained with Ballet West Colorado, San Francisco Ballet and Boston Ballet. Her experiences in dance naturally progressed into the Fitness Industry where she took a job with Gold’s Gym / Spectrum Health Clubs both as Group Exercise Instructor, and eventually, Group Exercise Director for all the clubs in the Santa Barbara area. Chanda was the Director of Group Exercise for over 10 years and during that time built a relationship with IM=X Pilates Inc. She brought IM=X Pilates to Santa Barbara, became certified in all their programming and loved it so much she eventually became a Master Trainer for IM=X Pilates Inc. which enables her to certify and continually educate instructors around the world. She is currently the only Master Trainer on the West Coast and now owns one of the only 3 IM=X Pilates Franchises in California. You can expect to see Chanda open more IM=X Pilates Studios over the next few years extending from Santa Barbara down the coast of Los Angeles, CA. Chanda’s educational background includes a BS in Sociology and Minor in Physical Education through UCSB, she has also attended all course work in relation to Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine.
Rita Kipp, IM=X Pilates Advanced Certified Personal Trainer
Rita comes from the East coast where she competed in Swimming for United States Swim Team for 12 years and played Lacrosse for 10 years, finishing her career as Co-Captain for Shippensburg University. She also worked as a personal trainer at an all women's' gym outside of Philadelphia. Rita began her interest in Pilates when overcoming injuries, instantly fell in love with what it did for her and knew the next step was to become an instructor and bring these amazing results to others. Rita is certified in both the Basic and Advanced levels of the IM=X program. She has been teaching the IM=X program in Santa Barbara for several years. Rita uses her athletic background to "coach" clients to learn how their body works and to improve their activities of daily living. Rita earned her Bachelors in Social Science while minoring in Coaching at Shippensburg University in PA. She is also certified by A.C.E in group fitness, FEX, NCEP, and SPIN.
Kris O'Leary-Hayes, IM=X Pilates Certified Personal Trainer & Physical Therapist Assistant
Kris
has been a Santa Barbara resident since 1980. She is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant who has been practicing at Muller and Weber Physical Therapy Inc. and prior to that, Precision Biomechanics Inc. with an emphasis in spinal rehabilitation for 8 years. Kris has always believed in the value of exercise, participating in group fitness classes, weight training, pilates, yoga and biking for over 20 years. She is certified in IM=X Pilates and has joined Chanda and the IM=X staff to develop and run an IM=X spinal post-rehabilitation program. Her interest and experience in spine care and her love of fitness makes IM=X Pilates a natural progression for her. Kris's educational background includes a AAS in Physical Therapist Assisting where she was class valedictorian, a Master of Sciences in Systems Management from USC and a BA in Environmental Science/Environmental Biology from UCSB . She has taken continuing education classes in neuromuscular rehabilitation, manual therapy and spinal rehabilitation.
Lisa Wilcox, IM=X Pilates Advanced Certified Trainer
Lisa Wilcox has over twenty years experience in group and individual fitness. Her IM=X certifications include: IM=X Floor Work (mat), IM=X Xercizer (reformer), she has also attended the Super Advanced and IM=X Spinal Xercize Courses. Lisa has had an American Council of Exercise (ACE) Certification since 1986. She also has a MDA Spinning Certification. Fours years of work at The Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara gave Lisa a very solid understanding of physical therapy fundamentals. While there Lisa developed the first adaptive group fitness class for those recovering from a stroke. Lisa has now found that IM=X Pilates has helped her with her own knee and back injuries. Lisa has tremendous skills and specialized training for working with seniors and clients with back pain or other injuries. Seven years training at Golds Gym/Spectrum Health Club gave Lisa the opportunity to teach everything from Step Aerobics, Strength Training and Stretch classes to Senior Pilates. Although Lisa is no longer playing collegiate volleyball nor doing triathlons her competitive spirit is alive in her professionally designed work outs. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband and two children at Santa Barbara's beautiful beaches, cheering for the Denver Broncos, and reading the latest best seller.
Megan Quinn, IM=X Pilates Advanced Certified Trainer
Megan
leads an active lifestyle through activities such as beach volleyball, surfing, snowboarding, hiking and riding her bike to work! After trying just one IM=X Pilates class she was hooked and immediately became certified as an IM=X Pilates instructor. She is passionate about the benefits that IM=X Pilates offers the body. After graduating college and traveling the world, Megan and her husband, Peter actively enjoy the lifestyle Santa Barbara has to offer with their two dogs, Sydney and Inca. Megan is certified in both the IM=X Basic Floor & Xercizer. She also recently attended the Advanced Course Training so as to accommodate a larger range of clientele.

IM=X
Pilates founder, Elyse McNergney,
studied and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio
in NYC before obtaining a certification in the Alexander Technique
and two Masters Degrees (M.A. in Movement Science and an M.Ed. in
Exercise Physiology at Columbia University). Impressed with the
versatility and overall benefits of Pilates-style training, Elyse
and her team of Exercise Physiologists created the IM=X Pilates
program to reflect the changes and research of today's fitness and
rehabilitation markets.
